i find the prob with buying a newer bike is trying to work out how much you want to spend and balance that with the amount of time you can use it http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif (crap weather)
and the newer it is the less you want to use it in crappy weather

As you may have guessed, I'm happy as larry, and have also had a mad -laugh this past couple of months road-testing loadsa sportsbikes in the 600 and thou market http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

To be honest though, I only test rode the Gixxer to prove to myself that it was NOT what I wanted http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/nono.gif, but after 10 minutes on board, there was no question whatsoever in my mind that this bike is from a completely different planet when compared to its nearest competition!
The power is so accessable (was a tiny bit scared of what I had read before stepping on board!), the handling is dilectable, and the stoppers STOP it with such feel ... leaving a ride that is sooooooo planted I could hardly believe in my own judgement afterwards! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Double checked it with a guy who races an R7 and had been 'following' me around the dealers ... he had the same wide-eyed / besotted expression as me after riding the Gixxer ... that's when I knew it was true!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif
