I am helping my buddy rebuild his '01 GSXR 600 after a highside last year at Beav Run. We got the bike to start again:cheers

Now on to the brakes:
He has woodcraft clip ons on the bike and is using Galfer stainless lines going into a stock caliper set up.

Question is: What year of front master cylinder can we slap in there? It would seem the only two concerns are
1) Will the galfers for an '01 mount up to other years with out a problem (like leaking:scratch )
2) Any concerns with a '01 caliper getting pressure from a different year master cylinder?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure any model with the same 6 piston calipers would work. Just start looking around on ebay. You'll find what you need cheap!!

Yeah thats where were at now. I see alot on Ebay and have cross checked part numbers from a few vendors. Mainly just trying to make sure that we don't bring in any other troubles by saving a little time and money now.

Just make sure to use new crush washers on the fittings. The only other concern I can think of is to make sure the MC is designed to fit the diameter of your clip-on.

K2,3 use the same master cylinder as in the K1 GSXR 600/750.

If you want a newre one go to the 04+ MC , I think they will work just fine.

i have a 1990 with a 1991 front end and vortex clip-ons. i am using 1998 gsxr 600 tokico 4 piston calipers, galfer lines and a brembo radial master cylinder. i love this combo. you should use a radial master. it is the best brake upgrade you can do.

oh, as long as your bars are 19mm you have tons of master options.
