Just wondering how many of you ladies do your own oil/filter changes, spark plugs, air filter, etc. Hubby has helped loosen bolts a few times, but I have done most all myself, including brake pads. I'm proud of myself :biggrin hehe

I have a maintenance agreement for mine.
But I did change it after my first ride.
And again at 200 miles.
But once I don't have the agreement anymore, it will be me doing the work.

Get a service manual. You can follow directions on how to cook a casserole right?

This caught my attention because my wife shows no interest in doing the maintenance of her bike. So I do it. Just another reason to be in the shop.

I like working on vehicles, my step dad always made sure I knew what I was doing.
So when I need to work on my bike I will love that as well.
Like you said, just another reason to be in the shop.
My wife loves doing her own maint. Sometimes, she has a hard time turning the wrenches but damn. I have to give her credit for working at it.
Next project: Replace the pipe!

I do all my own maint and upgrades on both my cars and my bike. I don't trust a $6 an hour slackie to give either the attention they deserve. The only thing that had me swearing a lot was replacing the suspension on my car. That was a royal pain in the ass.

doing your own work is the way to go!
You save money on labor, if you fuck up you konw what you fucked up, you learn from it and are able to help others!
