97 GSX-R 600 after driving for even a minute above 80 kmph the bike wants to die. It sputters and if I pull in the clutch it dies completely. If I turn my key off and on again ( to make the fuel pump go more ) it seems to be a bit better for a few more seconds. I have had rust in the tank in the past.....would this be causing this problem? I also took my fuel petcock apart and it generally looks ok but probably could use replacing. Had the same problem clean the tank and replace the filters or clean them out that should resolve your problem.
