omnivore 01-05-2007, 12:43 AM Corey. I have a set of these in yellow. They rock. Ony problem is that I want to buy a set of convertibars, and i need a set that are about 4" longer than stock. What bike applicaton should I order them for? I was thinking maybe Bandit 1200?
MotoMummy 01-05-2007, 11:06 AM lol just order them for your bike and tell me how much longer you want them bro :) we can add length to any bike EASILY. just pm me your bike and how much longer you want the front/rear. no extra charge!
XAC750 01-10-2007, 03:31 PM I was already looking to buy the Galfer lines from your site. My Dad got me the Pazzo levers and Afam/DID 520 kit from you for my birthday, this past week and I want to go ahead and swap the lines when I change the levers. My question to you is "Is one brand better than another?" Thanks for the super fast shipping by the way, my Dad ordered the parts and I got them like 2 days later.
booz1k 01-10-2007, 03:53 PM i just ordered the galfer superlights for my k6 from motomummy through paypal today....never had any experience with these guys but from all the good feedback ive heard decided to try em ....so now iam waiting on the goodies
XAC750 01-10-2007, 03:59 PM By the way are there 3 levels of brake lines from Galfer I.E. Superbike, Superlight, and regular Stainless?
MotoMummy 01-10-2007, 05:19 PM galfer, hel, and spiegler are all great companies in my opinion. it comes down to what look you want, color, and pricing. that's about it.
your superlite lines shipped today so expect them by mon at the latest, but probably fri or sat :)
xac: they aren't really three levels. just diff types. the superlites are a tad lighter, but mostly just looks and the superbike lines are mostly just a different way to thread into the caliper. it all boils down to opinions and what you like the look/price of the best. i've yet to ride a bike and be able to tell the diff between superlite lines, supebike, and normal ss. performance is the same on all from what i can tell and even the reps there state it's mostly about looks.
hope this helps you guys make your decisions...
booz1k 01-10-2007, 05:34 PM cool cant wait to try em out ......for me it was really all about the color combo of the superlights i think they will go good with my color scheme
MotoMummy 01-10-2007, 05:40 PM you will like them :)
XAC750 01-10-2007, 05:47 PM cool
MotoMummy 01-10-2007, 06:05 PM just know the specs you're suppose to tighten the banjo bolts too so you don't overtighten them. you want to strip anything by overtightening the crap out of them. I don't know what the specs are as i personally tighten my bike to "snug" LOL. my arm is a precision torque wrench. we did have a customer a mo ago toss his hips into it and way overtighten it, so make sure you don't go crazy w/ tightening the banjo bolts down. other then that it's a very easy install. you'll love the look and normally you can tell a difference in the braking also.
just bleed it out well and ride safe :)
XAC750 01-11-2007, 11:11 AM If I am not mistaken the Galfer website says to tighten the banjos to 12 Ft. Lbs. with a torque wrench
Do the superbike fittings only come in gold and do any of the other brands make a line with those direct connect style fittings.
MotoMummy 01-11-2007, 11:40 AM that sounds about right, i know it's not very much torque on those. yes the superbike lines are only w/ gold end fittings. i don't know of anyone else at this time that does something like that. unless you went with spieglers quick release setup, but that's a few hundred dollars and the same setup rossi uses...very trick, but very pricey.
XAC750 01-11-2007, 03:49 PM I am not trying to be a DEUSCH, but I just want to make sure that I put the best product on my bike. That being said I just went to HEL's website and read their write up on "Why you shouldn't use Aluminum fittings on your brake lines." Is there any truth to this theory because it sounds scientifically sound. I am about 2 seconds away from purchasing this upgrade and I was looking at the Galfer super lights (with Aluminum fittings). I want to make sure I do this right. ALso I have received your PM with the price for the HEL lines how do I reflect this on your checkout page. THanks again. B2
MotoMummy 01-11-2007, 04:05 PM well it does make sense, but it's also not bare alum anyone uses as they have coatings. also what are your calipers made out of? what is your head made out of and what bolts do they use? spiegler and galfer use alum so does fren tubo and none of them have had issues that i'm aware of. i don't want to say there isn't any truth to it, but i can say that i have no proof of it in this industry.
also your head is alum and what do you think your bolts are? even the manufacturers do it :)
XAC750 01-11-2007, 04:10 PM Din't think about that, also I think you need the introduction of salt water to really get that "Battery" effect. I live in TN so don't see alot of salt water. I think I may just go with the HEL lines though because that is a great deal
MotoMummy 01-11-2007, 04:45 PM well it's not bare alum so the salt really doesn't come in contact with it either. all the alum is anodized which protects it even more. I really don't see it being an issue at all. That is why i didn't put it on our website. i don't buy into it as the manufacturers do it, and it's not bare alum since it's anodized. there is a barrier between the metals and NO other brand has had a problem with it. i think it's more of a marketing tactic myself...
XAC750 01-11-2007, 05:08 PM I am going to go ahead and get the HEL lines because they offer black banjo fittings and that will blen well with the black calipers on my 06 750. What code do I need to get the price special.
MotoMummy 01-11-2007, 05:16 PM pm me your email and exactly what bike you and have and what you want and i'll get an invoice sent to you and you can pay right through that :)
XAC750 01-12-2007, 03:31 PM I know alot of people think it's dumb to worry about looks on a motorcycle, but I think that is what draws alot of people to certain or particular bike. That being said in order to keep all of thelines looking the same I was wandering if HEL made a SS braided clutch line. I know it won't have any added function but would like nice to be homogenous. I know my Dad's Harley has a SS clutch line. So I am guessing we may be able to that to our bike. Thanks in advance.
booz1k 01-12-2007, 05:04 PM hey , corey i just got my galfer superlights in today for my 06 1k......but the front lines say part # fk003d419 f .....fits 2004 suzuki 600-750 is this the one i need for my 06 1000 ?? :scratch .....the rear one says 05-06 gsxr 1000 witch is correct
MotoMummy 01-12-2007, 06:25 PM they are correct. they don't list every model of bike on that little label. isn't enough room. you could pm me or email me to get a faster response on something like this. they are the correct lines, but the d419's fit so many model gsxr's they don't list them all on the package as there isn't room. you have the right ones...
the rear line says the right bike as that rear line ONLY works on that bike. the front lines fit many diff models of gsxrs...we rarely mess up an order and not in this case :) enjoy them

MotoMummy 01-19-2007, 11:17 PM what type of bolts do the manufacturers use to screw into the alum heads, calipers, etc? hel is a great product, but i don't know if i buy into that alum/corrossion theory because nowadays they use anodizing over the bolts. it's not steel touching alum as there are barriers inbetween. in theory it's good, but i've yet to see any problem with alum banjo's. i doubt galfer, spiegler, goodridge, etc would be in business if this happened often
