Hi

Just got my first real sports machine, a K1 600. Was having loads of fun on it until all of a sudden the clutch lever started to gain a bit of slack. I quickly adjusted it up at the lever, and all seemed fine for 30 miles or so when all of a sudden the slack came back. I have now adjusted the slack at both ends of the cable so much that I am out of adjustment and struggling to make gear changes. All this in probably 100 miles or so! Is it as simple as a new set of frictions (It all just happened so sudden), and if so is a clutch plate change as simple as described by RECKLESSABANDONS in his post:

I've also read about a screw coming loose in the tranny that can do a load of damage. Problem is i'm not sure which one it is, could someone let me know if its pictured on the attached Fiche link, and if not redirecting me on the fiche.

Any help offered would be a really cool, as not being on my new baby is killin me! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif

Cheers

IT'S THE ROD THAT TRANSMITS THE CABLE PULL TO THE INTERNAL CLUTCH .. I HOPE YOU FIND THE LOCKNUT IS LOOSE OTHER WISE THE RELEASE MECHANISUM INSIDE THE ENGINE MAY HAVE A PROBLEM... ONE THING AT A TIME ,,,BLOW THE PIC UP AND GIVE IT A TRY

jus bring the adjusting srcew out a little and the moment u feel resistance don't mess with it anymore cuz the push rod is right where it gotta be, don't tighten it all the way in, but i'm thinking your clutch cable needs to be adjusted with the major adjuster

Sully you are the man !!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Your first post was absolutly bang on, the nut wasn't just loose, when I removed the rubber cover the nut fell off the machine. Ten minutes and I was away.

I just can't thank you or anyone else who contributed enough.

Keep up the good work guys !!!!!
