Got home from work today to discover that my pride and joy had been stolen. Somebody had kicked the door down and took it in broad daylight on a quiet street. But there is a problem, firstly it wasnt taxed because it was not due to be on the road till the end of the month but it was MOT'D. Secondly Ive just checked my policy schedule and it says "Has the bike been specially imported into the uk" And I told them on the phone it was an import. But it said no on the form.
But on my log book it states "Declared new in GB by independant importer"
What do you guys in the UK reckon
Please help cos im really stressed at not having a bike for the summer.
Oh and has any one got a datatool veto plus for sale any condition.

I'd make a claim straight away and see what happens. What does it matter if it isn't written down as an import on your policy, even though the bike is an import ? Make a normal claim and say nothing about the discrepancy. The only problem could be is that if the insurance co. realises it's an import they may get tight arsed about it and claim that the policy is not valid or that you have paid the correct amount because the bike was not declared an import on th policy schedule. However I think it's higly unlikely that you will have a problem.
