Knight2211 04-23-2003, 10:00 AM Check out these guys and tell me how it fairs up for you guys, but you need to list some details for us as well. Don't post the comparison if you are through someone that gives a discount for your house and car there as well, unless it is better.
Open Road Insurance (http://www.primmum.com)
kwanjai 04-23-2003, 03:03 PM I've been trying to get a quote from primmum for a while now. They sent an application to me a few weeks back and I'm still awaiting their estimate. However I called today to check on the status, and they said that my application will take 8 weeks to process. I also asked about the accuracy of the website.. and they said it is only an estimate, and should not be taken too seriously because it doesn't take account other infomation that is relevant to the actual quote.
Z-gixxa 04-23-2003, 07:46 PM That quote was double what I'm paying, the only discount that I get is the multi car discount wich can't be that much money.I'm with state farm.

How long have you been with State Farm, with just your bike? I heard that they aren't doing just bikes for the last while.
Z-gixxa 04-24-2003, 06:43 PM A friend of mine had her just her bike with state farm last summer, but she didn't own a car,I don't know if that makes a differnce.

State Farm - w/ $1,000,000 Liability Only - $674.07 / Yr
[/list]
I am waiting on a couple more, and will add them for you guys when I get them.
sweet2bad 04-26-2003, 11:37 AM I got a quote from Primmum, they wanted $3800/yr for liability alone!
-i'm 28 yrs old
-M2, been riding for 3 years
-2002 Gixxer 1000
-1 accident (1 year ago)
I called a State Farm guy from out of town, he wanted $1300/yr for liability, and that's ONLY my bike! (no car, house etc..)
He told me that State Farm only uses the YEAR and DISPLACEMENT of your bike, whereas everyone else uses YEAR, DISPLACEMENT and MODEL/STYLE
CrazyCanuk 04-26-2003, 02:21 PM sweet... did you get charged in the accident or was it the other persons fault ???
thanks... just curious
Z-gixxa 04-26-2003, 06:48 PM From my experience you just can't beat state farm if you're riding a sport bike, anything else you're better off going somewhere else.

Well, I wasn't CHARGED (by police), but because of the rules governing "at fault" insurance - the insurance company deemed me at fault.....
