: Amusement Parks anyone?
Griff 04-17-2003, 01:22 PM Since most of you guys must like speed and that rush that goes with it. Who here enjoys a good coaster?
Just curious if anyone has taken their bikes to Six Flags and if the lockers there are big enough to hold a helmet. And if anyone would be interested in invading Six Flags over the summer. I'm a season pass holder, so I'm game whenever. And of course the occasional ride down to Six Flags in NJ is never out of the question for me. Nitro and the new Superman flying coaster there rock my world.
NITRO!

Hey I'm in for that ride. That should be a good one.
How much for the season tickets?
Rome
We have been talking about doing an overnighter to Six flags when it warms up (If it ever does) http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif probably sometime in Late May, Early June. Nothing solid yet though.

Season tickets for SF New England are like $60. And they are good at all Six Flag parks and properties. So if you go 2-3 times a year it pays for itself. That coaster is of one at Six Flags in New Jersey. The cool coaster at New England is the Superman Ride of Steel. You can get all the info including buying season tickets online at http://www.sixflags.com

Griff 04-17-2003, 04:04 PM Well that's a semi kiddie coaster http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Here's a pic of my trip to Cedar Point and Millenium force 300 feet up.
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1800.jpg
And now they have a coaster that goes 90 degrees up and down at a height of over 400 feet. That's my trip for next summer. This summer will be Six Flags Magic Mountain in L.A.
keep us updated Taz on that overnight to SF
Definitely will. That one was BADBOY's or Hammerdown's idea, I can't remember which. But we'll be posting info when we figure out more. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Well actually the Superman Ride of Steel is about a 75-80 degree drop. Goes up about 205 feet and drops 230 feet. Very good ride. Millenium force is the EXACT same coaster, except for the height and how it tuns and what not.
Any other roller coaster questions I can answer? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The one in MA is a day trip. No need for over night http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/piss.gif
NJ is the one for the overnighter, better coasters there too http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif
BADBOY_750 04-18-2003, 08:57 AM The reason for making it a overnight trip for the one in Ma. is cause alot of people is not gonna want to or feel up to riding back after spending a entire day at a park walking around and getting thrown around on the rides. So we figure a over night relax and have maybe breakfast in the morning and roll back. That sounds good. Does it not? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Guess your a man who know's his coasters huh.............hehehehehehe I love em too. I love the rush of the speed...............

Griff 04-18-2003, 03:23 PM Oh bah! Even you youngins! (I'm 27) During the winter I get up at 4 to drive 3 hours to snowboarding at Killington or Sunday River, ride all day from 9-3 then make a three hour drive home.
Bunch of whiney people here...I hope it never rains while You're riding http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Ok, I whine when it rains on me when I'm riding, but you get my point! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif
Disclaimer: If you can't tell, I have been quite sarcastic in my posts and it's not my ittention to piss anyone off or insult them, just some friendly poking.

Yes....well stated, BUT driving is very different from riding!! 1 second you dont pay attention to the road, and your all done. When you drive you get a little more give and play than on the bike, plus your probably chillin' in the car. You can't chill on a bike, unless your parked that is..... just my .02 cents http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
gsxrrider 04-22-2003, 04:16 AM Knoebels Amusment Park, Free parking, 2 great coasters, one the Phoneix is rated in the top 10 in the US and the other is called Twister and it lives up to it's name. Food is great in the park, and cheap too. Rides are pay by tickets or you can get a wristband for all rides. Tickets are good forever. the park is in a grove of tree so there always a place to hide from the heat. There is a huge pool with some small water slides. And last but not least there are a ton of twisties roads in the area, country roads that are well kept and just begging to be ridden. the park is about 2.5 hours from the PA NJ boarder on Rt 80.
For details about the park go to http://www.knoebels.com/

You are missing the whole point of staying overnight. It allows us to party at night there. Then the next day go for a ride out in Western Mass. The roads out there are less traveled and amazing. (I used to live in the next town over from Agawam where Six Flags Is) The rest before the ride thing is just a benny. Like a weekend getaway instead of rushing out and rushing back.
