what normal operating temps would be just cruising on the hiway? Also, has anyone retrofitted a digital temp gauge. My bike is a 94 gsxR750.

I don't have a digital gauge - but mine at freeway speed (65-80 mph) usually ran just over the first line on the regular gauge.

Like any other closed system- engine temperature should be a function of the thermostat.

I found that my '96 1100 ran 'way too cool on the OEM t'stat; changed to a Stant 13849 (be sure to add a single bleed hole... see http://www.factorypro.com/tech/tecthermosuz.html for the info) and it ran bunches better.

Good hunting! ...I've recently put a set of FCR39's on the 1100; still working on finalizing the tuneup (have them inhaling through the stock airbox/K&N panel) but am very happy with the results so far.

My '93 runs just over the first (warmup?) line when cruising. Guessing that's on the cool side, too. Heats up pretty fast in traffic, then the fan holds it to a bit over middle.
