Soft or medium for basically street use? Anyone know the cheapest place to get them from?

don't know where you can buy them cheap but make sure you go for the Pilot Power 2CT they're the good ones

PPs only come in one compound (or two compounds on one tire if it's the 2CT) - you must think of the Power Race :scratch IMHO the regular PP is plenty for street riding - and that's from a racer who's used to slicks at the track ;)

I havent used the 2CT's but I can tell you, you will not be disappointed with the PPs. They will be more than enough for even a spirited street ride. Even a moderate pace at the track they will do fine as well and thats from experience. :thumbup

fyi - I've had maybe a dozen pairs of pilot powers on 2 R1's and a gsxr 1000 -
I average about 8000 miles on the backs and 5000 on the fronts. 400 miles a week on the freeway commute and 150 a week in the canyons. Anyone not sure
about what to pick for a great all-around tire, this is it. I'll never buy anything
else. Cycle Gear has pretty good prices especially if you take in the wheel early on a Sunday morning - usually done in about half an hour...
