Sup guys! Need some assistance with my bike not starting. I got this bike about 2 months ago from a friend. Its a wrecked bike and it has tumbled over several times and bent in a few places. When i got it back to my place the bike was able to start and large amount of smoke came out through the exhaust. Since the bike flipped a few times and was on its side for a few hours oil came up through the air box, minimal oil, also through header and exhaust. We were able to burn most of the oil off the bike. So i put it back in my basement.
Several days later i tried to see if the bike would start but this time it did not. The fuel pump would go on as soon as i turn on the kill switch button. As i push the start engine it would not crank. The headlights only got dim. So i charged the battery overnight, used my bro's battery from his 750 and still did not crank. Put back my charged battery and again it would not start. We were able to jump the bike by jumping it straight from the starter, Boost cables to car on one end & neg grounded & positive with long flat screwdriver straight to the starterto other end of cable. Bike started right up. That's pretty much the only way the bike can start up.
I sent out the bike to Computrack to get the frame tweaked back and Asked if the guy can also check to see maybe he would know why bike would not start.the guy in computrack was dazed with the problem. He check for wires, continuity, battery, & tilt sensor all ok. He seems to think it might be the ecu that is fried but was not sure. So i'm stuck at this point in building the bike back up. Any suggestions and Info that would help me start the bike up & why it would not crank? I also check the Clutch sensor and its plugged in there. The wire looks like it might have been pinched, but if thats the case it should have not started since i have gotten the bike.
