Sorry man as much as I would love to say the pipe.....it's gotta be the leather jacket. You can also sell the Timax and put it towards some gloves or riding boots if you don't already have them!

Hmmm, what the hell is a G&G pipe? Do you mean D&D?

Your choices are a D&D pipe or an Icon Jacket. I'd say keep your money in your pocket, go home and don't buy either of thoes crappy products and you'll be a winner.

+1

Icon is more for people wanting to look good. Their jackets are way too loose and don't fit like it should. A proper riding jacket should fit tight.

Do you think it is worth if to get the Moto GP kangaroo suit for someone just starting to get into track days? Ive always gotten gear higher than my abilities at the time and have grown into them, but I love the look of the Moto GP suit and havent seen a better suit so far???

Sorry to thread jack...

Bro I would rock the bike like it is...they sound mean with the stock pipe. If you don't have a good jacket get something for more protection first.

LOL, but his girl is gonna buy him one of the two squidliest products on the market.
Poser crap riding gear and obnoxiously loud and shitty exhaust.

Yay.

Tell her to get you a good steak, some beer and a healthy blowjob....from her best friend.

No, def don't.
Are you listening?
Icon is garbage and he'd be better off making a paper mache jacket.

Get something that is spawned from racing, not posing.

From what I've read, both. They fit poorly and don't hold up like anything made by a company that also makes racing leathers, like Joe Rocket, Alpinestars, etc.

They make it kind of obvious that they are poser crap too with all those spiffy looking titanium knuckles and shit.

Whooptie fricken dooooo!

Always get the best gear you can afford - there is no such thing as "gear higher than your abilities" - you don't get less hurt because you're inexperienced, it doesn't take practice to crash hard ;)

What would be a good all around mesh jacket by a descent company? Mainly the riding is for around town, so I don't really need a full leather suit. I was thinking a good mesh jacket and some of those armored jeans..

btw, blaise, your wife/ girlfriend is the hottest lady on the forum.. Just my type, not being an ass..

She's my type too, that's why I'm keeping her. :) Thanks for the comps, I'll pass it on tonight. :)

As for the mesh thing, my gut reaction tells me I should say "Don't be such a pussy, sack up and wear full leathers every time like I do."

However, if you really want to know, the Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket gets a lot of good reviews. Just remember, everwhere you have mesh nylon or whatever it is, that will shred like paper when you hit the ground. The only benefit to those is the body armor.

I've heard of mesh ripping up on contact, but I've also seen the results of it. My cousin went down at about 75mph and his mesh jacket was a total writeoff, but the skin under it stayed intact. I forget the company, I think it was made by Firstgear or something like that.

Of course leather is better, but mesh is better than nothing.

Kind of nice to hear, I just got a 1stgear mesh jacket the other day, finally found a XXL/Tall in red... everyone else only makes black. So damned hot and humid over here in the summer that commuting on post 2-3 miles will damn near dehydrate you at 0830 in teh morning.

Take her out for dinner to show your gratitude, let her choose the place. Things like that will continue to happen. Good for you. Got a good laugh looking at the Arai jacket, they're made here in Korea. Met the owner of the manufacturer down at the Daegu M/C Expo two weeks ago, nice jackets, nice guy.
