sunofabeach 04-07-2003, 02:06 AM who here thinks goals should be worth more than assists? i think it is stupid how assists are worth the same amount of points as a goal. the puck could bounce of your face then your teammate scores and you would get an assist. goals should be worth 2 and assist be one. or only count one assist per goal instead of 2. the nhl needs to make some changes to the scoring system. naslund got robbed. what do you think? I don't know about you guys, but I'm 26, and I grew up watching hockey and I realize now how spoiled I was to have seen Wayne and Mario int their prime. 150+ point seasons were the norm... With some of the plays that are made, some of the 2nd assists should count more than the goals! I've seen some phenomenal passes to set up goals that had the first guy not made the pass, the goal wouldn't have been scored. I say leave it the way it is.
