That's pretty much how I see it, too.

If the Dinks end up in 1st, which they could since they are only 1 point behind the Stars with a game in hand, the Oilers can take the Wings has they have won the season series and know what it takes to beat the Dinks and know how to get under their skin very well.

Hard to predict without matchups...

But I say Vancouver/Detroit and Jersey/Ottawa.

Detroit/Jersey final.

Dallas -- first round exit, hopefully against the Oilers!!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif

Like that's gonna happen. Those two teams hook up it's going to be a 4 and out for the Oilers. OK, maybe 6 and out.

Well, there's a real mature way of putting it. Do you hear anybody calling Detroit anything other than the Dings or Dinks? Didn't think so.

Well..... there are a few talented teams this year....

In the East we have

Ottawa
Toronto
Jersey

In the West we have

Colorado
Vancouver
Detroit
Dallas

What do I see happening...... hopefully...... the Leafs can pick things up and make it to the finals, however I see Jersey taking it. The team in the West hopefully will be Colorado, however it will more than likely be Vancouver or Detroit.

Anywho thats my 2 cents!

I think Washington could be a sleeper team if they can get their shit together. They have a team on paper and they have the goalie.

Yeah, but the same thing could be said about the Rangers.....but without the egos.

We're hungry, don't you worry.

Just keep holding on to the fact that you won the west, and that your goalie had a lucky season. That 1.74GAA is deceiving... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Lui...the only thing ya'll are hungry for is a huge bowl of ass...ooops, i mean ass whoopin. And yeah it is deceiving that Turco has a 1.74GAA, b/c he is even better than that. He is just saving the rest for the Detroit pansies http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Luck is part of it. And you're right...1.74 IS deceiving...because it's really 1.72! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/flipa.gif

I will admit, he did impress me during the course of the season. He's got a good team in front of him, and the kid knows how to move the puck! Gotta love having a goalie who moves the puck like a defenceman. Turco ain't no joke! -- yes you heard that from me http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

YES!!! He had a lot of success at other levels of hockey, so hopefully he's "used" to the big game atmosphere and can keep shining. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

How many games did he play this season?

01Gixxer750

Odd they would question Turco following this season. After all, he only posted a goals-against average of 1.72, the lowest in the NHL in the modern era (since World War II). He also recorded a save percentage of .93230, the second-best save percentage since 1976-77, the first year that statistic was kept for individual goaltenders (Dominik Hasek in 1998-99 had the best, at .93660).

And just to make sure he entered the playoffs on a roll, Turco posted two shutouts in his last three games, going 3-0 while recording a 0.33 goals-against average and stopping 65 of 66 shots for a .985 save percentage.

In his mind -- and in the minds of the Stars -- the two-time NCAA champion goaltender is ready for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

"I'm more looking forward to the opportunity to win. I'm not looking to prove to anybody outside this locker room what I can and or can't do," Turco said. "Certainly this time of the year everything is magnified and that's the way it should be.

And he played 55 games this season...

JonRags

Yeah, Turco was god this season. Partially due to good D in front of him, partially due to he's good, and then the goalies other best friend, luck. I just hope for the sake of the Stars, Turco doesn't turn out to be like the last couple hot guys to come out of Philly or San Jose.
