: Green Bay/Favre
01Gixxer750 08-29-2006, 08:45 AM I was doing some reading/studying last night and was braindead so I stopped. I turned on the tube and the Green Bay/Cincinnatti game was on. It was 24-0 in the 2nd quarter and the Bengals scored again pretty quick to make it 31-0. Holy smokes! Are the Bengals that good or is Green Bay that bad (or a combination of both)?
bucky 08-29-2006, 09:06 AM Bret is done ,should have retired on top instead of going out a looser !
zjbarnes 08-29-2006, 10:17 AM The Fudge Packers don't have anything going for them this year.
lilmush 08-29-2006, 10:20 AM The Bengals have the potential to go all the way.

I'm glad to see Carson Palmer is healthy... If he wasn't hurt in that playoff game against the Steelers, who knows what could've happened. They can score like the Colts... now let's see who's defense can step up this season.

What the hell are you talking about. There is no way brett can go out a looser. Brett is a 3 time MVP been to the pro bowl a million times and been to 2 super bowls winning one of them. He is arguably on of the best quarterbacks of all time. He loves the game and that is the reason he came back. If you actually watch packers games you will see that he still has a ton of talent but has no talent around him. His line is full of rookies his number 1 reciever is Driver, who is good but not great. He throws a lot of interceptions but if you look at them a lot of them are from either the ball being tipped because the reciever didn't catch the ball or because he has no choice but to force something to have a chance at winning the game. Grant it he isn't what he used to be but he still is damn good and I think he could be one of the top qb's in the league if he had great talent around him like Palmer does. Palmer had a hell of a game and was very impressive coming off of a major injury and I give him all of the credit in the world but he also has some great players around him to throw to. I believe that if brett had some of the talent that other qb's have there wouldn't be people talking about how he should retire like there are now. Where you get off saying that he is going out a looser is beyond me and you are ignorant for thinking that. Anyone that knows anything about football would agree with me on this.
LiuKang 08-29-2006, 02:36 PM Kyle, you must bleed cheese...
I love Brett, best QB of my generation, but he won't see another winning season unless he leaves GB... which would suck. I'd hate to see him pull a "Jerry Rice".

I somewhat agree with what your saying. The team is very young and will take a few years to come around so he probably wont see a winning season. I am just trying to say that it is not Brett's fault that the pack are loosing. People try to blame everything on him and say that he is actually hurting the team but look what he's got to work with. I really hope he would never go to another team and I can't really see that happening, depending on how this season goes I think he has one season left at best.

On top? After a 3-13 season is on top?
:wtf

If Palmer wouldn't have gone down I think we woulda seen the Bengals in the Super Bowl IMO. That or they woulda got knocked off by the Broncos in the AFC Championship game.
The bottom line is Brett is NOT the reason the Packers are losing nor would they do any better with Aaron Rodgers starting in place of him. The team just sucks. No QB change will cure that and it's gonna be a rough couple of seasons but Brett is still a great QB and an asset to his team and as soon as he's the problem Brett will bow out. That's not the case though nor will it be the case for a couple seasons.
Packers suck. Brett does not.
wheelburns 08-30-2006, 02:05 AM any who other then bret being old and being the only player on his team cinnci is legit. palmer will but blowin away farve and marino records in a few years

I totally disagree. Palmer going down was not a direct result of them getting their asses handed to them by the Steelers. Steelers always beat the Bumgals!

he has absolutely NO supporting cast, terrible O-line, no back, or wr, weak defense....

Exactly. Why people want to blame the best person on the team is beyond me. :confused
Harlem Broker 09-10-2006, 07:00 PM :scratch.........BENCH?
zjbarnes 09-10-2006, 07:22 PM Time to take a seat Mr. Farve, your days are over.
jasondd23 09-10-2006, 07:31 PM nah Favre is the man.....

didnt watch the game but did notcie how weak the O line is. Farve is too old to take a beating this season.
Kyle S 09-18-2006, 05:56 PM I see no one bothers to say anything about there favre sucks comments after he has a good game. The pack still lost but favre had a pretty damn good game, it would be nice if the recievers would hold on to the damn ball. The one int he did have looked to me like he was trying to throw it away but was hit when he was thorwing the ball.
Harlem Broker 09-18-2006, 07:58 PM II actualy want him to do well. Got the old man on my fantasy team and hes about to replace Culpeepee!

ya culpepper is sucking ass right now. he was a damn good qb, i'm sure he'll come around soon enough. I was gonna pick him in my fantasy draft but the guy right before me picked him, thank god for that.
asphaltpilot 09-25-2006, 09:42 AM Farvv-rre gave me 31 points yesterday :D I have to start him next week because my other QB has a bye and the Packers play Philly. eek.
I.E. 750 10-08-2006, 11:31 AM favre is a legend, it just sucks that everybody got
better then him.........or is he just to old??
NOS4U 10-17-2006, 06:18 PM im sorry but u cant blame brett for how terrible the team is.....ahmad green...garbage...he gets hurt every season....the o line is young....driver is the only reciever they have....defense....linebackers is the only position that is stable.. otherwise all garbage..... i say favre retires this year... and it takes the packers 3-4 more years to rebuild to be a contender again....
P.S. Green Bay Packers are still #1 to me....
