Hello all!

I recently purchased a 2002 Suzuki GSXR 600 that came w/ a custom undertail kit and custom taillights which fit the kit. I believe the lights are LED. The lights look really good but the problem is they don't function properly. At idle, the normal park lights are on, but if i hit the brake, the left light flashes bright and the right flashes dim. If I hit the left signal, the lights seem to alternate flashing, if I hit the right signal, similar bizarre behavior. The wiring job under the rear seat seems pretty sloppy and includes a small little black box w/ no labels/switches on it, but does have more wires feeding into the wiring harness.

I know this is going to be a difficult one to troubleshoot, but any help is greatly appreciated. If you need pictures of the existing wiring I would be more than happy to provide. If anyone has a wiring diagram for this type of setup, that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Do you have an owners manual?

This is a CUSTOM undertail light kit. How would an owner's manual help me w/ the wiring?

because it should have the wiring diagram for the bike, then, from the undertail, you can connect the wires accordingly...(ex. your left turn signal to the wire that the manual says is the left turn signal etc.) Pics would really help though

Wiring diagram in an owner's manual? That would be a first. Anyway, this is a CUSTOM job. IE. Aftermarket undertail kit w/ CUSTOM lights. I'll have to take some pics and post..... Any other info in the meantime is appreciated!

I ment Service Manual...(sorry) If you could get your hands on a service manual, it will have the wiring diagram in it. It shouldn't matter if its custom, the wiring should still be the same... unless its an INTEGRATED system, where the tail lights (brake lights) are also the turn signals...

sounds like a possible grounding issue
check for broken wires
or you need isolation between signals (diodes, FETs would be better)

Pics as promised of the tailight/directional wiring. If any specific pics/close ups are needed of any particular spot, I would be more than happy to provide. Notice the cut wires near the white clip and near the beginning of the wiring harness coming from the battery.....

You could buy a service manual from here http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/812548 if you don't already have one.
OR
Go here http://www.gofastvideo.com/gallery/album/view/483/free-racing-videos/suzuki-service-manual.html and maybe try downloading the 750 manaul. It's prob the same wires as on the 600.

Check for a loose ground or a short in the wires. It might just be easier to remove the aftermarket wires/box, trace it out according to the service manual, and re-install it. Electrical problems are always a PITA. Sorry I can't be of more help.

First thing I would do is remove all the coverings off of the splices and make sure the connections aren't corroding or coming apart. 80 percent of problems I see is from bad splicing.

Second I would check out the integrater unit. (the black fin with all the wires coming into it) If you can't find out the problem yet differentiate the wires between the brake lights and the signal lights by disconnecting one at a time and test for continuity. Then test the wires coming out off it. If this is all good then I would think its the integrater went bad.
