: How difficult to reg an RGV in the USA?
Slyder27 08-03-2006, 02:58 PM I sure can't find any RGV's or NSR's, TZR's in the area....seems like I'd have to go to Austrailia or Europe to score one.
Now if I were to somehow get really rich and I did go buy one over seas, what kind of a nightmare would I face to be able to legally ride one in the states? I'm in VT.
I've seen them around, Yamaha RZ 500, and an RGV 250 out on the street in New Hampshire, though maybe they came from Canada, didn't get a look at the tag.
Anyone do this, or have any info about it?
I wanna RGV250! :mad
dojdog 08-03-2006, 03:34 PM Found this site the other night, not sure if it's much use

I don't blame you for wanting one :D They're not that common here in Europe any longer either :scratch What ya gonna use it for, racing? I wouldn't recommend it for street use

You can legally register(or you used to be able to a few yrs back)a 2 stroke streetbike under 500cc's in new hampshire.Thats how the guy registered&titled the '86 I bought from him.
if you have any other questions, post em up;)
icycold 08-12-2006, 03:31 AM They are great for street use, I have a super reliable 70hp and its never missed a beat. Its a weapon on the track too, much more satisfying pulling off a great lap and passing the latest 1000cc on brakes, corner speed and sometimes laptimes!
Slyder27 08-15-2006, 08:20 PM I'd want to use it on the street. I don't race (yet?) and I imagine street use would be a lot cheaper, provided I tossed it just once on the track.
I like 2 strokes, always have. I want one for the street, see how that fiars. I ain't skeered.
I've got a snowmobile with an 800cc twin 2 stroke in it. It's ok I guess...but an 800cc triple would make the twin look pretty sad. Even worse, a Yamaha Apex snowmobile with an engine based on the Yamaha R1 (inline, 1000cc 4 stroke) makes all the 2 stroke snowmobiles look sad. I got to ride one last winter and all I can say is DAMN. If you guys live in an area that gets snow, and you get a chance to ride one, don't pass it up :)
but ya know what? who cares, i want gimme gimme gimme :D
us 2 stroke owners know where its at

Yamaha definately has a niche in the market with their 4 stroke sleds, they are still a bit heavier than the competition BUT the are coming out with some lighter designs.
I got to ride a few turbo Apexes this winter where I ride in BC. All I can say is 270hp is fun:biggrin

to register a 2 stroke close to impossible especially in California. Best if you know someone at DMV and sheriff inspection then it's possible. :oogle
