Hi guys, just wondering what rpm is best for launching a turbo 1000, my first trip to the track I ended up running 10.50 at 148 , leaving the line at about 5000rpm, and with a 1.9 short time,, this is on a 02 1000 stock hieght and not strapped,, any ideas? ,,, thanks

Stretched? What kind of clutch?

Stock all around.... 4-5K RPM
Stretched but Stock height 6-7K RPM
Stretched and slammed 8-10K RPM

Just for reference. Thats what I have had best results with.

Stock clutch gotta slip it a little with those launches, with a lockup. Just drop and go!

wow.....that seems a little high but ok. i have a 6 over 1000 and i launch at 3500 running 9.8/ seems like a turbo woud be on boost at that high a rpm and would spin the tire all day long trying to launch at that rpm

Thanks for the reply,,the bike is stock length and has stock clutch setup,, traction wasn`t an issue ,it was just hard to keep the front down, lol,,anyway looks like time for a set of swingarm extensions and straps for the front,,

I launch at 8.5 to 9k rpm with my velocity stage 2 03 gsxr 1000. I am also droped and have a spencer cycle extended swingarm set at about 8 inches over stock. 64".
I also have a mtc multi stage lockup clutch. I try to keep the rpms up on the launch because if it bogs you are screwed.
I am not great, but getting their. I have really ben racing the bike the last month and a half. I started with 1.9 sixtys and have slowly worked my way down to high 1.6's low 1.7's.
I have had tire slippage or clutch slippage and don't have the air shifter working. Going to a good track this weekend and have the clutch slippage figured out and hopefully have air shifter working. Hopping to hit 8's this weekend. :punk
I have a shinko ultra soft and run it at 10-11psi. It hooks great when the track is prepped really well. If the track is not very good it will spin clear down the track.
Sorry I can't help you with what to do on a stock wheel base/height turbo 1000. Definatly would be a hand full to keep the front end down.
lower it and get some extensions or a extended arm.
