After saving cash for the past year-and-a-half to get a GSX-R600, I have just paid for and taken deliveryof my first NEW bike!!
I did not buy the GSX-R600, however; I bought the SV 650 (blue, 2002, no miles, naked, and AWESOME) after talking with the dealer and describing my riding experience.
At first I was dismissive of this motorcycle, because I am 6'4" and weigh almost 250 lbs. Then I sat on one, and realized that it fit me lke a glove.
Then I rode on one, and I couldn't stop laughing for an hour. The bike was so much fun.
It's mine, now. The only things I need for this riding season are some plastic to cover the (ugly) frame and some fork springs (I am bottoming the bike out on occasion) and I AM OUTTA HERE!!!
See everyone on the road - my first trip on the bike will be this weekend, to Bear Mountain in Rockland County, NY. I plan to go as far as the Chesapeake Bay (Annapolis, MD) this year.
I am so happy that I bought this bike instead of a GSX-R600 - when I sat on a Gixxer at the dealership, my girlfriend laughed and took a picture. The look on my face is one of sheer pain. I thought about posting it, but my ass looks too big.
Right now, I'm going out to the driveway to look at (and start up) my bike again.
For those of you who may be asking yourself about this bike, let me answer a fundamental question for you: YES!!! SV 650s DO ROCK!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif
Even if your ass is as big as mine! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
