Don't really think there is a way to get ahead of the class really. Just listen to the instructors. If you can get ahold of a dirtbike ride one for a little bit and practice riding around at slow speeds turning ect. Not sure how much riding experience you have

I start my MSF course Friday night, I'll let ya know how it goes. I had an 89 ex500 that I rode for about 6 months back in 92, and have been racing off-road for about 12 years, so I don't anticipate it being too difficult. It will be kind of nice having a leg over a street machine again, since it's sooo much different than a dirt bike. Oh, also, you might want to consider buying your helmet before you take the course if you can afford it. I don't know about you, but I don't relish the thought of putting on a lid that has been on 100 other sweaty heads. Here in Cali they also require leather gloves, so I stopped by the local shop and picked up a helmet and some gloves. Being not 100% sure what color scheme my bike will have, I just bought a reasonably priced HJC lid, figuring if nothing else it will make a decent spare down the road. With tax my total for the HJC CS-12 lid, Held "Ninja" gloves, and mirrored visor for the helmet was only $233.
