I'm thinking of buying a 2000 750 gixxer with 3000 miles. Does anyone have an opinion for the bike for that year.

Dingo3243 03-18-2003, 05:13 PM I have heard rumblings of the 2nd gear problem, however, you'll hear that about most bikes(some type of tranny issue). I've heard it with the R1's, R6's, GSXR750, and the 1K. Have it checked by a mechanic before you put down a large chunk of cash on ANY bike. On another note, you can't beat the look of the 2000 GSXR750(yellow/black) or the 2001 GSXR1000(black/silver). The GSXR stickers make it look that much better. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif yello_ranger 03-18-2003, 07:21 PM I bought my Y/B 00 GSX-R 750 back in Nov 02 with 6,300 miles on it...I love this bike...It had a full Yosh RS-3 Exhust..Front Sprocket...Texas Undertail...The person that had the bike before me really took care of it....I have 3 brothers that ride GSX-Rs...My younger brother bought a brand new B/W 2002 750, my bike is faster and runs a lot better than his. I bought it new in 2000 and ride it like I stole it. My only complaints are (1) the OEM brakes suck and (2) my tranny self destructed after a track day last season. I brought it back to my local dealer a year after the warranty had expired bitching and complaining. To my surprise, Suzuki paid for a good chunk of the parts & labor which helped to ease my pain.
