i have and 02 gixxer 1000 with an yosh TRS exhaust stock filter lowered and stretched 60 ft 1.7 and 1/4 mile time 9.90 im shifting at 12.5 every gear and some guys tell me im waiting to long to shift, what rpm should i be shifting at

WRONG~!!!! you HAVE to make it bounce off the rev limiter a few times first. :cheers

so you saying shift like between 13-14 and what you mean bounce off the rev limiter

You wanna shift right before red line, if your hitting the revlimiter your killing your time it takes a 1/10 off each time you hit it, you might want to put you a shiflight on that bike, it helps you from doing that

Shift as close to redline as possible WITHOUT hitting limiter....

when you guys say shift at red line that starts at 12.5 right thats where i shift

Shift at 12,000 rpm and then see what happen, also gearing could be wrong to on your bike

That sounds like a good starting gearing to me on that bike, you shouldn't have any problems

practice from the sound of it you are just starting. I am not trying to put you down but the more you do it the more accustom to your bike you will become

yeah its cool i havent been racing long but how would you know if you have to much or not enough gearing hope this isnt a stupid question
