I am new to this forum .... and I am new as a rider as well... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/squid.gif
A friend of mine told me to come here if I ever needed a question answered. My question is my bike won't start? I checked the battery, there is gas, etc.. it turns on - it primes and so on. I just wont start... all I can hear is the starter. HELP !!! By the way it is a 2002 gsxr600

did u have the choke on when u first tried to start it? were u giving it gas?while u were starting it/or before? this same thing happened to my 99 600 and it was all because i would put the choke on and give a little gas before starting and the damn thing wouldnt start.

put the choke on and dont give it any gas. if u start it without the choke(or FAST IDLE) since i believ thats what the new bikes have but imnot sure if it works the same way. o yeah, if u start it without the fast idle, dont give it any gas until u fire it up.

try startin it without giving any gas and if it drains ur battery, jump it. thats what i had to do and it started right up. just an idea.

good luck.

Try what gixxer600's saying. If you've cranked it over too much without getting it to fire up, it's probably flooded now. You can pull out your sparkplug's (if you're capable) in an effort to dry them out, or just wait a little while and let evaporation do the work for you.

A push start might do the trick (it's worked for me several times). Hope it all works out for you.
