I'm looking at the Shark Skinz website, and see this: (http://www.sharkskinz.com/s/suzuki3140.htm)

Where does it go? It looks like an undertail. Sorry for the stupid question.

I've never seen one, but I would have to agree that it looks like an undertail. maybe it improves the airflow through the bike to lessen the bubble of dirty air behind the rider, making it harder to draft.:scratch

I think you two are reading a little too much into the name of the piece. It's just the undertail part of the bodywork.;)

What ^^^ said. It replaces the shiny black plastic OEM piece on the bottom of the stock tail when you put the SS tail on.
