2007 GSXR 600 Project

So i bought a 2007 GSXR 600 from a salvage lot, but little did i know that there was a crack in the frame on the right weld line. So my cosmetic rebuild turned into a frame swap. I bought a new frame from the bike and now ill at least have a clean title from from a '06 GSXR 750. Since I'm keeping it for a while, i figured a 750 frame isn't such a bad idea. Then i could upgrade my engine later. Anyways, well heres my progress.

Heres the crack:

It's not good to see that crack on the weld. I know it is rare but does happen with wrecked bikes or ones that are stunted a lot from what I've read.

Thanks for the pic so I know where to look in the future.

Yeah I was really bummed when I saw it, but i have a new frame coming tomorrow so i can swap it. and I'm most likely going to do a time laps when I rebuild it.

There has never been one of these frames that I know of to crack/break SOLELY from stunting or any form of riding.

The bikes are made to be ridden, NOT crashed. Crashing is the only way I have seen them crack/break

Looks good. I just recently converted a 07 to a 08. Always nice to see the before and after work.
