Yoshi EMPRO benefits?

I have a yoshi EMPRO on my gsxr1000 k6!track bike, I have just bought bazzaz for it too. Does anyone know what the EMPRO can actually do as I am not sure where the benefits lie?

buying a bazzaz to piggyback this unit is pretty much the most blasphemous thing you could do. do you not have the EMPRO software? EMPRO is basically an ecu that is designed for racing, and as such is adjustable to the end of time. you can adjust every last engine performance characteristic, AND with information from all sensors on the machine. bazzaz uses an 02 sensor at the most, and is an extra step in fueling, that is it. take the bazzaz back.

Only reason people piggyback PC and Bazzaz on the EM Pro is if there isnt an engine builder close by that can tune the EM Pro.

It can do different fuel map and ignition map for every gear as well as quickshifter time delay for each gear etc too. Quick change between 2 stored maps, increase redline and a bunch of ther stuff.

Go to someone that knows how to set it up and forget the bazzaz

I have spoken to my local dyno centre and he recommended piggy backing the bazzaz purely for the traction control. Surely this makes sense?

bazzaz traction control, isn't. all it does is cut fueling when the wheel accelerates too sunddenly, according to the threshold that the user sets. it is not even in the same state, let alone ballpark as traction control that comes on the zx, s1000, or rsv4. if you want the TC, go for it, but it has to be attended too very pedantically, and has to be changed for different track conditions, and different tracks.

Not to dredge up an old post, but this is really bad information. Bazzaz is excellent TC software. It is a rate of change system (works off the crank sensor) and is very effective. When done right, the Bazzaz system is seamless, and allows you to determine the amount of wheel-spin that you are comfortable with. Once you get proficient programing your own custom map, it is actually better than the TC that comes on the ZX-10 or the Bimmer. The Ape's system is very good and beyond everything else out there. You can tailor it to different tracks (not really needed once you develop a map that works), and then use the adjustment ad-on to increase, or decrease your map.

so how does the system know that i am straight up and down and a bit of wheelspin is more acceptable? how does the system know what my front is doing? how does the system calculate the fore/aft position and weight bias of my chassis? does it quickly and seamlessly adapt to gearing changes? it does none of those things seamlessly. it is an excellent system that is based off of one sensor, but no where near capable as one that uses multiple.

so how is it better than the zx-10 and bmw. anyway?

edit- i do have a bazzaz TC on my 600 and i use it, still trying to iron it out.

It sounds like you need to learn how to use your system. If you would like, I could give you a map off my 1000rr??? It knows if you are straight up or leaned over by RPM, this is how you develop (program) your map. The higher the RPM, the less sensitivity you program in (this usually occurs when you are straight up), less RPM usually indicates you are leaned over, where you program in more sensitivity. The Bazzaz also lets you make adjustments for each gear. Just because a system uses sensors on both wheels doesn't make it automatically better, you do understand this right? A rate of change system is making a comparison to the crank and the single wheel speed sensor, a two wheel speed sensor system is making a comparison to each other. Even with front and rear wheel speed sensors, a map must be developed. With stock systems that come on bikes that offer TC, there is a canned map. Seamless, as it relates to TC is the abruptness of the retardation of power produced by the system. With Bazzaz, there isn't any detectable abruptness so, I would say that it is pretty seamless. I was serious by offering help on your map BTW... Here is a quote from Cycle World, where a GSX-R1000 equipped with Bazzaz TC set the second fastest lap of all the current liter bikes that come with TC standard. Mark Cernicky was riding...

"We were most recently reminded of the GSX-R1000’s performance prowess in our “Electronic Warfare” shootout (CW August, 2011), in which we equipped our stock testbike with an aftermarket Bazzaz Z-Fi TC traction control unit and lapped second-quickest amongst the current crop of factory TC-endowed liter bikes".

looked at the article. not impressed. magazine articles fall very far short of explaining how a traction control with a crank sensor and gear sensor is better than a system based on 2 gyroscopes, crank sensor, wheel sensors, throttle position sensor, gear sensor and programmed to take into account lean angle and tire profile on top of those.
