Hope all you fellas are as back to normal as you can be - we finally got power on last night out here on the south shore of Long Island.

This generator has been getting a work out, i think when this is all over i might just spoil it a little bit with a good servicing. My stove still works so at least i been eating good.
Sorry to hear you still don't have power Rich. That is some bullshit...

Re: Northeast Trackwhores: 7 month thread v3

Just dropped the motor out of the frame during lunch

Got a better look at the head in the bad cylinder. It's a little banged up but not too bad. I'm sure it could be fixed (not economically for the scope of this project though).

Fixed up that stripped motor mount with a helicoil while it's sitting here. Just need to wait on a few parts then I should probably think about giving Markbilt a call and figure out how I'm going to proceed.

I didn't research it but I knew that they made total seal rings for bikes. I wonder why they stopped?

I put antifreeze in the racebike and swapped the tires (gonna put the tires I used for the last trackday in the house so they don't spontaneously explode when I go to use them next year). She's winterized.

That would probably be easier for when it comes time to put water back int, but how do you ensure you get all the water out of the motor?

Let it sit all winter with the lower radiator hose off the water pump. Put a small pan under it if it keeps dribbling little bits of water.

Can cause water pump to oxidize

No water got in the house? So raising the house last year saved it? How far from the water is it?

Re: Northeast Trackwhores: 7 month thread v3

Yeah, dump it out from the bottom hose and fill the radiator and run it, that way you know the antifreeze gets to all the water.
