Could Suzuki be working on a new TL???????

Knowing that Honda is working on the RC1000V, new concept bike to replace the Honda RC213V

http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/12/04...-concept-bike/

and the recent development of a new Moto GP Suzuki for the 2014 season.

http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/05/22...ogp-prototype/

Is it irrational to think that Suzuki may come out with a new "TL" to compete with Honda? It looks as though they may be discarding the V-Four*, used in the GSV-R, in favor of the cross plane technology used in the Yamaha M1 for their 2014 Moto GP prototype. If this is the case and they made a new production bike, using the cross plane tech and called it the "TL", would you still buy it?

SuperStreetbike.com thinks it should look like this... I agree.

Just giving you something to think about.

I like.

You really think they would really keep the SRAD acronym on it?

The GSV-R is a V4, not a twin. There haven't been twins in MotoGP since the 2-stroke days (well, that was 500 GP and not MotoGP - technically) and they weren't exactly front runners.

Apart from that, I doubt Suzuki will be doing much new development until they have recovered properly from the financial crisis. If anything maybe some softish, affordable all-rounder like the 650 Gladius with an SV1000 based engine...

The bike that Honda is working on is a customer MotoGP bike, it's not a twin, it's a V-4 based on the current RC213V. Its basically a homologation special so that race teams can buy and race an already built package instead of trying to build their own CRT bike from the ground up.

The bike that Suzuki is building is based on the GSX-R motor. Not a twin and I don't even think a V-4. I think they said it was going to be a big bang or crossplane-type I4 as you said below.

Just giving you something to think about.

Considering American Suzuki recently declared Chapter 11, I somehow very much doubt they are going to start that kind of an ambitious undertaking when the original TL was not competitive right out of the gate, and wouldn't make sense in the current economic (and competitive) marketplaces.

My bad about the "V-twin" I knew it was a "V-four" but had a retarded moment ha ha (Changes have been made so that I don't sound too much like an idiot. Would be kind of cool to get them back, some people love em'. I for one love the sound.

I was all over the SV1000 when that came out 10 years ago and was hoping they would make an R version with better suspension and brakes as well as a full fairing. I rode a stock one later and it was just too soft and heavy

I've always loved V-Twin sportbikes, have had quite a few of them and it would be nice if Suzuki would make a proper one - but like I said I doubt it'll be anything but a soft all-rounder if they do

More than likely they just copied the picture out of Super Streetbike. They have one of those imaginary "concept bike" ideas in each issue. They just photoshop a bunch of random bike pieces together. The TL up there is a Ducati front and rear end, an old TL chassis. I think maybe a CBR1000 exhaust?

Like this Yamaha "R8" from an old 2009 issue

Well it depends on which direction. I've seen certain older Suzuki's go for 5 figures in Oz.

I can't imagine shipping from Australia to Texas being cheap. I'll import my Superduke R before I'd do that, that I at least already own
