Well, I ended up getting the Driven Chain in White for someone's bike I was working on.
07 Yamaha R1
The bike is White and black so the chain fits pretty well.
The colors were nice... but
When I got the chain the grease seemed relatively different than what it has been on the previous colored chains (red, blue, or even gold) in the MVXK family
Upon cutting the chain to size I noticed the chain tool (RK) was removing a lot of the white compared to previous colored chains. I installed the master link and upon installation the rivet plate holder (as seen in the below link) took once again a good deal of white off before I riveted the master. I decided to get another link and thought maybe something got on it and made the paint come off easily. I ended up getting the silver master link.
Got the silver master on, riveted. Looks good, I put chain degreaser on the chain, wiped it off with the rag and noticed there are a lot of paint chips on the chain. Never came across this problem with the other colors
So, am I having issues for some reason with the white paint coming off easily?
Has anyone else?
I will give it good reviews for looking good however I can not say much positive as far as the paint wanting to stay on the links and since I have not had this issue with other colors.
The chain arrived in a box however it was not in a clear bag inside the box as they normally arrive. Not sure if that means anything at all. Just kind of wondering why the edges and some centers are chipping away paint wise.
I take care installing the chains, starting from rear sprocket and rotating slowly forward while the chain rests on either a piece of cardboard or the box.
Anyways, to make it short from this distance it looks fine but very obvious if you are adjusting slack in the chain, looking at the chain, lubing, cleaning, etc.
