New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

Hey guys
My buddy picked up some nice products from Motomummy for his 2012 Ninja.

Driven Chain, Front & Rear Sprocket, Sprocket Nuts, and a Quick Turn Gas Cap

Just thought if anyone was interested in what any of these products look like (namely the gas can as pictures don't do it justice as the machine work is phenomenal)

Re: New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

My only issue with the gas cap is when I take it to anywhere people are someone is bound to mess with it....

I was going to order one because I liked the looks of it but I just can't get past the let me dump this soda in your gas tank that would inevitability would happen. Driven does make some amazing stuff and the customer service is as good as Mummy's if not better..

Why would someone dump soda or anything into your gastank unless your a total dick all the time in which you get what's coming to you.

Re: New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

Yea these quick release gas caps can be a bit tricky or require a bit more strength then you may think.

However, I have never had people tamper with any of the bikes that we take out to places like Old Town, the board walk and so forth.

I know the bike is a Ninja, however I wanted to give others the close up pictures they may need for comparing or debating on what to get.

Pro-bolt's red seems to turn out pinkish, some of the photos found do not do it justice or are not so readily available.
Also I wanted to get the detail and machine work in the photo since I was unaware it was even going to be like that upon purchase.

Hope you all understand

I Luv Kevin

Re: New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

Should've went with Driven Sprocket bolts for your Driven Chain kit, I have gold sprocket nuts, DID ERV3 chain in gold, Drivven D-axis rearsets with gold adjuster and FP Racing Levers in gold and all match about perfect. Only thing that isn't is the Driven oil fill cap, was a shade lighter than everything else and sitting in the sun one day made it almost silver in color now.

I've never heard of anyone messing with someone gas tank. Think about how much time that would take compared to just expending your foot and knocking the bike over? If someone really wants to mess with your bike they will. The gas tank would be the least of my concerns compared to knocking it over, exposed brake lines, etc.

I like he gas cap, but wish he master link was a match, or at least a gloss black.

I was going through some of my receipts for bike purchases, and I have about a dozen from 'MotoMummy'.

Yes, I am a fan. But now gotta pay for my sons' college, so the bike has to take the back burner.

2014- my plan is to get a chain/sprocket kit and a speedro.

True ,My buddies bike was tipped over 5 months ago. It's a ninja250 luckily nothing really happened to it. Small scratches here an there. The thought of people messing with the tank has kept me from getting a driven cap.

I had a non locking cap and SVS took a dump in my fuel tank at the last GDC overnight event.

The red sprocket bolts are the driven ones
It all matches nicely

One of my buddies bought a bike with a quick access gas cap.
The PO used silicon as a gasket for the cap.

I thought you said you got Pro-Bolt and they turned pinkish, that's the only reason I said all that.

Re: New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

A few weeks later and the colors of the red have faded considerably.
I find this to be total bull shit - Owner.

Re: New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

That's what happens to anodized products, sunlight will damage the colouring. Not so much bullshit, more it's just the way it goes.

If the bike sits outside at work, and then sits outside at home, thats a heck of a lot of sun and it's going to fade.

Re: New Driven Gas Cap & Drive System

Sits in the shade a lot or garage. At work it is under a roof and at home in the garage.

Other red anodized bits never faded. Even some cheap pieces. So I just thought maybe something else was up?

No big deal, just wondering.

I just read up that driven (I thought it was them) had really high quality red anodizing. I thought they used some special way to seal it.
