Wanted?
Did he just commit another crime or was suspected of such?

there are PLENTY of reasons why a cop could shoot at a fleeing driver/rider. We dont know if any of them happened, or none of them happened.

I didnt realize Cali was the only place that had Police aircraft

Just me or are you saying "it'll be more tricky" as if youre waiting for when you get to outrun a cop

Only squids, thugs and guy who think they are as fast as Mladin rides gixxers so the cop had no choice but to shoot.

Re: Trooper shoots GSXR rider for eluding police

my opinion seems to think the cop was shooting at anything he could hit and was lucky to get the riders leg, and in shooting at a person who's operating 400lbs of hurling metal he created more public danger by having a potentially unconcious rider on a public road than just putting his ego in his back pocket and letting him leave.

4 shots? The cop wasn't aiming for the leg if that's the case..he is just lucky that is where he hit so he could give some BS excuse...

Re: Trooper shoots GSXR rider for eluding police

I admit we don't have the whole story here but from what we do have there is no excuse for shooting the guy. Cops are not allowed to discharge their firearm unless there is immediate danger. If there were other cars on the road for this guy to endanger then 4 bullets flying would have been more dangerous than the bike and would have meant he couldn't fire. Obviously this guy was no danger to the cop. With that stretched piece of shit the cop could have just paced him and called in a roadblock.

Well said....I also didn't realize it was an automatic death sentence for driving with an expired license...

Regardless of the reasoning, that officer should be looking for a PBA/Union Rep and possibly a lawyer.

I usually am for police acting appropriately, but I agree with Moto Joe-- need more details. should be as simple as contacting FOX, and getting the film for a COPS episode.

Re: Trooper shoots GSXR rider for eluding police

HOUSTON – A motorcyclist is in stable condition after he was shot trying to evade a DPS Trooper early Saturday morning in southwest Houston.
The trooper had pulled over the rider for a traffic violation at 12:20 a.m. on State Highway 99 near FM 1405 in Chambers County. The rider took off and the trooper pursued him.
The chase, which reached speeds up to 100 mph, continued through the east loop to State Highway 90 onto Post Oak Road. That is where the trooper opened fire on the motorcycle. He hit the rider in the leg trying to disable the motorcycle.
The rider stopped near Brookston Street, where he collapsed from the gunshot wound. He said he did not want to stop, because his driver's license had expired.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.

Hmmm, maybe the reason
