Anyone into Mini GP racing?

I'm thinking about getting into it while the season is down. There a few sites I'm browsing. It just seems like it would be cheaper and more fun than a full size bike. Plus I can learn more of the technical (close to knee dragging)/mechanical (set-up) aspects of racing without destroying a $13k bike.

Any links or info?

If so, how was the experience? Super expensive? Fun?

I've done quite a few seasons on my NSR50 and it was a total blast! Not only is it cheap to race, it's very cheap to maintain. Since I've owned the bike (2004), the only thing I've replaced is one spark plug and the trans oil a few times. Other than that, my 04 NSR is still the way it was from day 1! Including the tires which have hundreds of laps on them!

Most of the guys I know are racing mini supermoto's like the KX65. These are much faster than the NSR but are also much cheaper than setting up a CRF150r for mini moto racing.

Lots of options out there from NSR's, NSF's, KX's, Mertakit's and many more.

BTW, although these might seem like toys, don't let their size fool you, they can really bite you in the ass if you're not careful.

Calvin, 1993 to 2007, I will miss you my friend and will never forget you.....RIP big guy.

I'm going to have to E-mail some of the tracks around here. I researched the KX65 before and thought out might be too small, but so is the NSR lol, what I originally wanted.

You see those QMT/Brembo front brake kits for the KX? Sooooo nice
