Think it's a scam?

So I'm recently back into the market for another bike. I was hoping to purchase one over the winter and do some mods on it before spring it. Had my eyes set on the orange/black 2007 1k. Locally I haven't been able to find too many bikes that have relatively low mileage, or that weren't lowered or stretched.

Anyway I stumbled across this listing and for some reason my mine immediately jumped to SCAM! What do you guys think?

Unless he accidentally put 2,600 instead of 6,200? No way its actually for sale at that price.

Re: Think it's a scam?

Well, it was listed July 1st, so if it's not a scam it's already sold.

Re: Think it's a scam?

Also searched that email address, that exact bike with that listing info verbatim, and the same pictures has been listed for sale in May, and three places in July.

see:
http://www.cometosell.com/viewlisting.php?view=25498
http://www.bikez.biz/ads/showad.php?ad=45664

Between the various listings I found, the Bike is in Macon Georgia, Tampa Florida, Detroit Michigan.....

Definite scam.

Re: Think it's a scam?

Well, the listing is almost the most reasonable thing about the ad. He does say he's willing to ship around etc. But, scam for sure and if its not, stolen.

My thoughts exactly. I'll be letting this one pass. Just wanted some reassurance before I jumped on it.

Well, wouldn't selling you a stolen bike with a fake title be a scam? Personally, just seeing 'will ship worldwide' is a giant red flag. Would you list a bike on craigslist inrending to ship it to the Ukraine or New Zealand?

Totally agree. Willing to ship world wide is definitely a red flag. I'm not selling you my bike or buying one that isn't a face to face transaction at which time money changes hands. Plus nobody is going to give a bike away at that price unless there is something seriously wrong with it.

With a color laser printer you can make your own title.

Re: Think it's a scam?

Ive noticed that scammers will almost never put a picture of license plates wether it be a bike or car. The shipping thing is also a red flag, but there are also a lot of people who are able to ship vehicles across the country fairly easy. The world wide thing was too much though. Also most scam email accounts are very general. There was a magazine article i read that explained how to help distinguish legit emails accounts from scammer ones.

Re: Think it's a scam?

Well now that the first posting is cleared up, emailed the guy with a fake email that I created and received a very shady reply. Anyway I have since broadened my search and may have found a nice k9 that seems decent.

Not a huge fan of the Leo Vince exhaust on it but I have heard good things about them.

A lot of work to do? I think that one went right over my head

Think the price is too high? I was hoping to talk them down some.
