Start motorcycle without key?

So I lost my key a while back (about a month ago), and I have been using my car to get around. Is there any non-invasive way to start the motorcycle without a key? (Gixxer 600) I assume not, but I figure it's worth it to ask.

Re: Start motorcycle without key?

That would be the smart thing to do. There are a few keyless ignition threads.

Ahem... we probably cannot post up info on how to bypass the ignition on a public forum. Just sayin, don't we have enough bike theft going on already? No offence OP but take it to a shop. They can sort you out with a new ignition (along with a shiny set of new keys!)

There are a ton or racers and track day junkies here. Most do not run a key. That is why there are threads on how to do it. I also don't run a key.

I was referring to the OP who was asking for a way to bypass the ignition that was not "invasive". Sorry if you thought i was referring to GriffinD's suggestion, which i believe would qualify as "invasive" (or at least more invasive than an ignition swap). I have edited my previous post to make it less open to interpretation. Again, my apologies for being unclear.

Re: Start motorcycle without key?

I know with a car you can just go to the dealer with your ownership and they'll cut you a new key using your vin number as a reference... I don't see why you can't do that with a bike. Additionally, I think most bikes are equipped with a key tag number; the dealer can cut a new key using that number but you still have to provide proof of ownership etc.
