Mine are beyond the screwdriver, obviously...
Won't hold still for an impact drive... besides, its all a bit fragile for that..
and.. I ruined the screw-head trying anyway....
SOMEbody else must have come across this!
Help most appreciated!!!
I've had that happen once before. I don't know why they won't use allen head bolts but whatever....anyways,I used the smallest pair of Vise-Grips and grabbed the head of the screw, clamped down in it,and un-screwed the bolts.
Wow! You're good!
I tried that but no dice... I'll keep at it, since you've confirmed that approach (won't give up so easily this time)
If still no go, I might have to resort to drilling them out... then try and get the vice grips on the shaft of the screw that (will hopefully) be protruding...
One bike, I've ordered a replacement throttle housing, so fk it...
The other bike.... its a problem, since the throttle cables badly need lubing..
And really..... why not allen screws?!?!?!?!
I'm gonna replace with those regardless...
Kroil might help (liquid wrench, etc) with seized bolts/screws, etc but if things are as badly mangled now as you say they are, you may have to resort to an easy-out/extractor to remove that pesky screw...g'luck !
An easy-out it might have to be, at that.....
What is Kroil?
I figuresd Liquid Wrench = NG on plastic?
Pix...
You have no idea how hard that is to do right now.. lol..
Just look at your switch pods.... picture the little black screws holding them in... only... the Phillips cross is more like a circle
Try taking a blow-dryer/heat gun and heating up the surrounding plastic ( be careful not to melt/burn the plastics). That in conjunction with vise grips help a lot. Taken a few out this way that just would not move any other way.
