Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

Meh. Having ridden them they are pretty mediocre. There are better superbike twins out there by far. That bike I consider to be one of Suzukis "miss". They made it to try to jump the gun on the new superbike rules that would allow a 1000cc twin against the 750cc inline 4s that were the superbikes of the time (before 1000s were the superbikes). The missed. A little while later Honda hit it out of the park with the RC51. But again, that was compared to 750s. Compare them to the twins that compete against the 1000s today and the RC51 is not that good of a bike either.

They both have cult followings, but neither are honestly all they are cracked up to be.

You know how there are those thick girls that, for whatever reason, just look sexy. That's how I see the TLR's.

Id rather have another SRAD. Similar and better shape IMO, and better bike all around. Personal preference though.

The way you ride you bikes is probably why you want an SRAD. Since I am not at the track (yet) its hard for me to appreciate the differences as well as you can.

Nah. Even on the street. A Buddy of mine had a NICE TLR at the same time I had my SRAD actually. Twins take a special type of person to appreciate. I can ride them, and have. Ive ridden a bunch of them in anger. But I just never prefer them. Street or track. Some people fucking LOVE them. I dont . I like some. The only one I have really really liked is the Buel XB12. didnt like the 1125 though.

I thought the 1125 was supposed to be Erik Buell's best bike? Why didn't you like it? I have always had a thing for twins though.

It wasnt bad. But it was hard to turn and slow for as big as it was. compared to a 600? it was a little faster. But for 1125cc liquid cooled rotax engine... that bitch should have been way faster. WAY.

It was very composed though. Even when I got it slideways entering a turn because I was not used to the engine braking, it would settle out quickly and turn and not protest a lot. The brakes were way better than people gave them credit for as well.

With that said, inside of about an hour on it, I destroyed a set of tires, warped the brake pad backing plates, had it nearly over heating, and blew third gear out of it . And that was just riding the piss out of it.

I like the XB better. It was even slower... a LOT slower, but It was was a Harley engine. I expected it to be slower. The damn thing was tiny though and nimble as hell. A blast to ride (no pun intended.. the buell blast is garbage)

Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

I learned on a Buell blast. I loved it! I felt it did a good job teaching me to ride. Easy to work on, but it was built very cheaply. I also had an XB. That single front rotor delivered a TON of braking power. I have always had a soft spot for Buells because my dad is a Harley rider.

There are a few old guys that cruise around my neck of the woods on RC8's. They do look pretty cool. That RSV4 does look pretty cool too.

Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

Honda has always been pretty decent with twins, I had an early '80s 125cc dirtbike that ran like a dream. It had a silky-smooth purr that was a fantastic change from my 400cc two-stroke Enduro, and it never needed anything but ordinary maintenance.

That damn Yamaha, though...I had to tweak that thing every 3 months to keep it in its prime. A giant single-cylinder two stroke... dead duck below 5k, 5.5-8k it was a shrieking banshee! I love how a big single sounds going down the straight. Said me, but not my neighbors.
