Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

well right now that xd on sale for like 419 locally. Glock subcompact i found in the 600 range. seems like a simple decision specially since i liked the xd subcompact more than the glock. I just gotta see what the difference is between the xd essentials 3" and xd subcompact.

The essential kit does not include the holster, mag holder and the mag loader IIRC.
It just comes with the gun and 2 mags. IMO it's worth the savings.
Having said that IMO, the XD series have a higher bore axis and kicks more than other similar sized 9mm's and getting a smaller one would make that even worse.

I'd probably recommend a bigger/heavier gun and/or a gun with a lower bore axis like a glock, M&P, CZ perhaps. If it's for your woman, I'd recommend letting her handle various guns and see what feels good in her hands.

Found this online for you.

I want the xd for me. I shot it and loved it. I'd also get an aftermarket holser so i don't care for the OEM one. Plan is to buy it for me and if she likes it i'll get her one as well. Otherwise she can try other subcompacts.

so do some work on the trigger

I'm looking at the Ruger because of the price difference. Locally I can get one for around $400 and the user reviews of them have been pretty good

For display of course. Kansas has pretty lax laws. Just sayin.

thought about it but I'll leave it up to her. Personally i'd rather sell it since a semi auto would have double the capacity.

XD Essentials is a package () including a firearm

XD subcompact is firearm only

the firearms themselves are no different

I think you have it reversed. I mean the subcompact is the gun, but the essentials is just that. Only the essentials and none of the gear.
