?? Stamping new Frame numbers. - Who's had to?

My 06 race bike has a blank frame bought new from Suzuki. I have the original neck off of the cracked frame and the MSO is on it's way. ( I always knew them as CO - Certificate of Origin )

Options - Stamp it myself... figure not legal, but I'm mot stealing anything

Option 2 DMV?

Option 3 Dealer - I was told didn't deal with this sort of stuff.

Anyone ever legitimately have a frame restamped?

If you are not selling it I would just do it yourself but keep a good record just incase I have never heard of a place that restamps vin numbers that is legit

I don't know what it's like here, but I've seen "stamped" frames here on ancient or homebuilt bikes. It's actually a barcoded sticker from the DMV that sticks on.

I figured I'd be talking to the DMV soon about it. Just hoping someone had done it.

Makes me feel like a theif ... but I know it's all legit.

I think that's mostly where the DMV comes in, making sure it's all legit.

you mean, like an inspection? I'll keep the orignial neck as long as I have the bike.

My 01 racebike got popped as a stolen frame when I went in to tranfer title to sell it . I had the title and everything, but they stole it with a false certified check... so the signed title went with the bike.

I get paranoid these days
