rear passenger peg bracket removal question

hello everyone, long time lurker, and finally got my own '17 gsxr600! i recently installed an m4 slipon and now that the rear bracket no longer has to hold up the stock muffler, i plan on removing the rear bracket all together....question is, once the bracket is off, am i supposed to put the bolts back in or leave the holes exposed? what have any you done who have removed your rear passenger brackets? are there any consequences to leaving the holes exposed like rust later on? thanks and ride safe!

Re: rear passenger peg bracket removal question

I probably wouldn't worry too much about rust, but I replaced mine with Sato Street Hooks. Make a nice tie down point for the back, though I mainly use them for the bungee cord for the trailer restraint system now.

I had a bear of a time removing those bolts in the first place. Suzuki used some pretty strong threadlocker. LOL
