2014 GSX-R 750 Top Speed

Going slightly down hill, I was able to achieve 189mph mods:
Ceramic racing headers
K&N racing filter
Power commander 5
Autotune high band o2
Yoshimura r77 racing slip on
110 unleaded oxygenated VP
40shot NOS.
This run was without nos. I believe if I had more room it would of kept going. Plenty of rpm left.
If anyone knows anyhing about new cams valves springs etc. For this late model bike? please let me know. I also heard these blocks can be bored anyone know about this? Also anyone experiment with spark plugs yet?

And how did you verify this 189mph run?

With the mods you have listed, your actual top speed without the spray will be right around 176mph.

Please go into more details about the "ceramic racing header" as well...

Just bear in mind that most of us here are actual racers, road course, top speed, and drag racing.

Re: 2014 GSX-R 750 Top Speed

I hit like 192 once but I was going uphill but I didn't have a slip on so I mean you probably have more horsepower than I do so you are a lot faster than me but plus I was on a public road so like I knew there was a cop but he was way far away and I was in all my gear so you are probably faster than all of us you are so cool I wish I was as cool as you and your dick is probably so big you're so cool I bet you have hecka friends you are so fast none of us can keep up with you because you are like an Adonis of speed and going fast make sure you don't wear gear because it will weigh you down also I read if you don't wear a helmet you're more aerodynamic so do that too

YOU DIDN'T HIT 189 MPH AND WE DON'T THINK YOU'RE COOL AND THIS ISN'T THE PROPER SITE FOR YOU TO POST THIS, GO AWAY

I had a guy tell me his stock 2004 ZX-10R did 232mph running from the cops... And he was serious.

I will never understand why people feel the need to lie or exaggerate.

For me the problem is stupidity. People think they have a bike and are cool, but they know nothing about motorcycles. This guy had 189 show up on his dash and thought that it meant he was actually going that fast. That number will show up on these bikes but as we know the speedometers on all motorcycles are off by whatever percentage. I've been told it's like, 10-15%? A real rider would know that.

But he thinks he went 180 and come change, which makes him stupid. Then he came here to brag, which makes him even stupider.

But, let's wait and see. It's very plausible that a professional racer would make his first post on this forum humble-bragging about his speed. I've been known to be wrong before...

Re: 2014 GSX-R 750 Top Speed

Well, the problem is that the dash won't even show 189. The speedo stops reading at 186mph on all Suzukis except for the original unrestricted Hayabusa, and there is no way around that unless you buy a MoTec dash for like $3,000.

And yes, from the factory there is between 6%-12% speedo error. Throw in different gearing, and the error can be upwards of 25%.

So I have a few questions for you since you seem like a serious top-end racer, and I also do a bit of that on my bikes as well....

Which fuel from VP,cause I don't know of any unleaded oxy fuel with 110 octane?
What gearing were you running?
How did you verify 189 mph?
How much do you weigh?
What profile rear tire?
What brand are these ceramic racing headers?
What is a high band O2?
At what rpm did you achieve 189mph?
What were the weather conditions on this run?

You are losing a decent amount of horsepower if you are using 110 octane fuel and you have a stock engine.
I know a lil bit about cams, what are you looking to get performance wise and how much are you willing to spend?
Aftermarket spark plugs are a gimmick and a waste of money.

Hmmm. Coming back from my Europe trip, German Autobahn.....I saw a nice long stretch and opened up. Reached 296kms on the dash. My bike is standard other than a racefit, bmc air filter, pcv custom mapped, healtech TRE. God knows how much the speedo lied. I bottled out, I felt like throwing up man. She was still climbing but I came off the throttle :-(. I couldn't maintain that kind of speed :-(

I have a speedo healer installed now. I'm going to check to see how much is it off by and calibrate the vales :-)

Anyone that refers to it as NOS doesn't have anything more than the energy drink. And we know what happens with NOS energy drink.

Re: 2014 GSX-R 750 Top Speed

I recall a post by Anthony in a similar thread not too long ago that handheld GPS devices are notoriously unreliable. So without asking a cop to radar you, how does one go about calibrating speed?

The truth is I don't want 100% accurate speed. I like to have some % difference ( actual speed over read) as it would help me keep my license around speed cameras :-) Speed cameras are everywhere in uk.
