06 upper/lower fairings fit an 05?

Just wondering if 2006 upper and lower fairings would fit an 05? I'm in need of fairings in a bad way but want oem and I found these for sale online. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Nevermind I found the answer by changing my search a little. Sorry for the useless post.

Unless there is something really different between the 1000 and 600/750 yes as 05/06 are same generation.

Thanks for the quick response. I learned the only difference is the paint scheme

Possibly yes depending on what paint scheme you have. The K8-L0 600/750 are all same generation and can be interchanged but on the K9, Suzuki changed the blue on blue/white. I figured if you are looking at fairings they either match what you have or you are looking to repaint so left that out of my response.

Re: 06 upper/lower fairings fit an 05?

Trying to find some to match the stock blue/white on my K5 1K. Seller parted set out I guess so no luck. Didn't realize it'd be so hard to find some. Not exactly sure what happened exactly, but I came down from a wheelie and the brace that holds the front fairing/cluster/headlight setup broke and subsequently some of the backings where the screws hold the fairings on broke. So now I continue my search I guess, lol. Thanks again.

That's a first. Sounds like something was already damaged prior to you landing a wheelie. The front cluster doesn't just break like that from a hard landing...poor bike. Surprised you didn't blow the fork seals and bend the front wheel as well

Just telling ya what happened. It came down hard and the headlight area fairing was bouncing. It sucks, and is turning out to be quite an expensive ordeal, but I want my bike back in good shape so it's all worth it I suppose. Thanks for the response.

I take it you don't have insurance? You can buy new fairings at but it'll cost ya. The middle piece with the R on it 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 SIDE COWLING is $270 and the lower section 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 UNDER COWLING is $630. These bikes are too expensive to fix to be farting around.

Re: 06 upper/lower fairings fit an 05?

Thought this should be addressed since you crashed but your K6 has a frame recall if it has not been addressed as well as a front brake master cylinder.

Mine's an 05, still have the frame recall? It's at the dealership right now getting the master cylinder recall done, along with a c42 code problem, and getting that brace fixed as well. And I agree, too expensive to fix to be farting around. Thanks for the help Samantha

Huh, it's at the dealership now and it was never brought up. I'll have to ask them about it.

Re: 06 upper/lower fairings fit an 05?

C42 could be related to the cowling brace being broken. It sounds like either the ignition switch or a wire from it to the ECM is damaged. Does yours have an immobilizer?

Re: 06 upper/lower fairings fit an 05?

A K5/6 with a new fairings? How many miles?
Where's it at?

I actually think I'm going to rebuild mine and do it right, instead of get another that probably wouldn't be as good or run quite as good.

If it takes complete dissassembly and new frame, etc.p so be it- and yes, I'll have it professionally checked/looked at.

When they told me the friends shop they took it too, it started tight up, warmed up fine, no leaks anywhere, and ran and sounded perfect- I'm now thinking I'm going that route.

I'd rather take my time and rebuild that bike to be honest, decided yesterday and having been searching online, calling a few, etc.

Oh wait, I could get a stretched and slammed bike!!-- To each his own

K5 R1000- frame/body mostly totalled as of 5/7/17
Engine still runs and no fluid leaks-
It's came home 6/5/17
Also got another near mint one too now.
Will post it up/ new thread soon.

Sounds like a terrible idea. A well-maintained bike is going to run just as well, and the amount of time and money you're going to spend on the bike is going to equal or exceed what another bike would cost you. If you keep the frame, you have a salvage bike. If you get a new frame, you spend a nice chunk of money (they're usually over $1,000 for the frame). And this is hoping that nothing happened to the engine. Then you have to spend ALL of the time trying to get clean parts, fit everything together, hope that your forks and wheels aren't damaged...yeah.

I'm not sure if it does or not, I was under the impression that U.S./Canadian bikes did not have them.
