Please help with problem on Gixer K4 1000
Brother tried to start his bike this evening after giving it a clean. He was last on it two weeks ago when it went for mot.
With no throttle the bike starts but cuts out after a few seconds.
If he gives it some throttle when starting it, the bike just throws out blue smoke.
He's checked the plugs, checked the fuel lines and even replaced the fuel.
Any ideas please?
Thanks for your replies.
No error codes. The lines at the side of the C00 suggest the tps is an issue. Put a meter across it and resistance kicks in when throttle is wound round two thirds
Bike won't fire today. Could it be an immobiliser / alarm issue stopping it firing.

Does that mean you get no resistance reading until the throttle is wound 2/3 of the way to WOT? Make sure you've set the DMM to the proper range and that you're measuring the correct wires, according to the manual. What does the dash indicate to make you think there's a problem?
On the right of where the error code display is, he says theres a line. If should be in the middle but it's at the top suggesting the tps needs adjustment.

Are you seeing the dash at the top with the engine warmed up and running at proper idle speed? Because if you're seeing this with the engine off, it might well be normal.
The alarm / immobiliser could well be the source of the problem, I suppose. How does it "not fire"? Does it crank? Do you see a reading or (--) at the temp readout or do you see CHEC? Does it sputter or backfire?
