Hi everyone. it's been a while since being on here but I am in need of a bit of help.
I put the bike away around 12 months ago due to an issue with her starting, after one evening of cranking for around 10 mins (not continually) she started and ran like a bag of nails. Failing to rev and giving me about up to 6k (ish). So we stuck her in a barn and left her.
A few weeks ago I decided that I would start some enquiries as to what the hell was wrong but this immediately gave a bigger issue.
She will not crank over at all.
So what do I know?
1) battery is fine
2) ignition switch is fine (new infact)
3) starter solenoid is fine (new again)
4) right hand switch assembly is fine (replaced with a known working one)
5) when you jump the solenoid she cranks as normal
6) the TPS is set to low at the moment
7) the starter is fine (just reconditioned the old one and works great)
8) I have pulled out the PCIII to put back to OEM
9) the fuel pump has now decided to not prime the rail as in no noise and code c41(this is new!!)
10) new fuel relay
11) All fuses are good (little box by the head light and the starter solenoid
12) Fuel pump actually works (took it out of the tank and all good and working)
13) electrical connections are okay and have continuity.
I do think that I may have found why she ran like crap before though , the fuel pressure regulator was jammed open so no pressure was being kept in the rail (this is now fixed)
Now for the interesting bit...
Earlier when I took out the PCIII she cranked over as normal even though the fuel pump wasn't turning on, now it's not turning over again even though the only thing I did was crank her for a out 10 seconds (battery is still fine as are all the fuses)
Last week the fuel pump worked when turning on the ignition now nothing...
I am wondering if we can get the fuel pump to turn on then the bike may crank.
Have put an offer on a replacement ECU.
Starting to look at other bikes but I really don't want this to beat me.
Ideas?
Mike
