Re: I'm NOT wirthy of a new bike....I keep coming off LOL

I noticed this a couple days ago;

Thought I had fixed it but obviously not.

Looking at my rear tyre though, i'm thinking the bike pissed oil onto the rear tyre;

Gonna have some lunch and take fairings off for a closer look.

Knee is stiff and swollen

Ugh, I get sick to my stomach seeing scratched and dented bumblebee fairings and gas tank. Especially since I just sold mine, and a brand new gas tank. Let me know if you need pucks for the case covers, I think they re down to a handfull left and they are gone forever.

Btw, I don't see the oil from one of the front lines getting on the rear wheel. I know we spoke on that in pms, but that's a long way for oil to travel, and a large volume of oil.

Haven't taken the fairings off yet mate....was cold this morning, now gonna run some errands, then it will be too dark.
Might get a light out if I'm up to it

To tell the truth, I went down hard and fast, not speed wise....one second I was on the bike, the next I was on the tarmac

I know I almost threw up in my mouth when I seen the pics.. would a output seal leak bad enough to get oil on the tire that bad?

+1 on the oil on the rear that would of easily taken you out without any symptoms and no chance of recovery. Too bad on those plastics, looks like it went down real hard, was it on cobble stone, Armi?

I am sorry to hear about your bike and your knee. It looks like a tough fix, but not even close to impossible. From the sound of things I am willing to bet that oil did you in. I really like you bike and I hope it gets back to it's normal pretty self soon!

The gas tank went to a great home Chris!
I opened the box once (asked the wife to take a pic of me opening it and she refused, saying pretty much "wtf do you want me taking a picture of you opening a box of bike parts for you to post on the internet?"; they just don't understand).
Anyway, I opened the box and checked the contents; and gave it a damn good smell (as a cigar afficianado would do with a Cuban), sealed it back in the box and put it on the "holier than thou" shelf in the garage.

Having said that...

Armi, it looks like most of the armour that you had on the bike worked, don't forget that SRAD's bounce back very well after an off on the road (unlike most newer bikes, and like CCM's SRAD on the track...)

I'm always sorry to see a scratched Bumblebee, but it's better to hear that you are ok mate.

Live and learn. And check leaks...

Best wishes, Ad

A '96 model 750:a dusting of Harris,a cupful of Yoshi camshafts some Ohlins essence,a slight sprinkle of Marchesini magnesium,some Keihin kindness,a bit of Brembo, a smattering of EBC,the caress of carbon fibre bodywork,a brace of Gilles rearsets,triple snorkle c/f airbox + kit radiator to suit. And thanks to ARMI, some seriously sick chain adjustors!

Re: I'm NOT wirthy of a new bike....I keep coming off LOL

Couldn't think of a better person for the tank to go to

Well I found the source of the leak.....it was an allen bolt under the stator cover, not sure if it happened before or after the incident

How the bloody hell the hit the floor is beyond me

I've replaced the Allen bolt and washer, with the one on my spare engine but it still seeps ever so slightly......any ideas how to resolve this
Should I replace the copper washer with a new one? Would that really make a difference?

I'd replace the crush washer and visually inspect the threads.
