Average MPG??? on GSXR-750???

Hey everyone, just wanted to know what eveyone's average MPG was??? The tank is suppose to be close to 5 gallons right??? what do you guys average on one tank?? normal driving. I know my bike has been running really rich and I think I'm averaging around 120 mpg on a full tank. Does that sound about right??? I do get on it on the straights from time to time but not beating on it. How about the rest of the Srad family?? please post your average MPG...

Re: Average MPG??? on GSXR-750???

The one or two times I've calculated in the past has been mid 30's, if I was doing nothing but commuting or long distance on highway then low to mid 40's....

My gas light almost always comes on right around 100 miles, I've seen 140 miles on a tank once but put 4.1 gallons into my 4.4 gallon tank.... scared as shit cuz I was in the middle of nowhere and my light had been on for a LOOONG time

Wife's 99 got a pretty consistent 34-36 mpg ridden with some restraint, but with a little "spirit" here and there.

By comparison... my '03 750 gets about 16... on the track...

Re: Average MPG??? on GSXR-750???

i'ma getting about 120..but my timing is off, i have cut my yoshi can so it's shorter and it's a streetfighter (read - no more Suzuki Ram Air Direct or SRAD)

i think these bikes should getting around 170-200 miles to a tank. I used to be able to get to NJ and or Philly on a tank...leaving from manassas, va.

btw - F. Richard...man you are WAY off that bike in ur avatar...awesome!!

My 99 750 with the mods gets about 120 mile to the tank when I am nice. At the track, I get about 80-100 miles. It depends if I am teaching the fast or the slow guys.

Hehe... thanks... actually, I'm TOO far off the bike, but there's a reason...

Can you see the blue on the pavement in in front of me in the lower right corner of the avatar?

That's actually the painted box for the drag strip. This was taken at Firebird Main track in Phoenix, and the corner is a nightmare if you go down.

Check this picture out:

Members Pics Thread

That's well after we're on the straight. You can see the same blue sections of pavement as well as the wall to our right - that's our run-off. There's also the metal plates where they put the starting lights.

Point is the blue stuff and the metal plates are SLICK! So, the idea is you hang further off your bike so you can stand it up more as you accelerate out of the corner. Essentially, you nearly clip another concrete wall on the left as you exit the corner and run wide all the way to the outer wall to keep from spinning up the rear as you accelerate onto the straight.

The following link is a quickie webpage with pics from my mock race in 1/08 when I got my CCS license at the same track:

http://www.pma-corp.net/keekle/mock/mock.html

There are some pics that give you a much better idea of what that corner is like...

scary...

Sorry for the thread jack!

I calculated 40mpg last fuel up. 3.1 gallons at 120miles according to my trip meter. Both city and highway and a little bit of spirited action...

Worst I got was 36, best was nearly 49. Mostly highway, canyons, avg 70-85mph on the freeway.

I average 34 mpg on both my k1 600 and my k8 1000, regardless of how I ride.

For those of you with those 40+ numbers, get a speedohealer and come back to reality.

I've measured my odometer against google maps, and I'm less than a tenth of a mile off. So on my 49 mpg one, corrected would be approx 44 mpg.

On my 34 that brings it to just about 31.
