turn signal will not blink

I just installed bar end turn signals on my 93' 1100. When I hit the turn signal button the signal will light up and stay on but will not blink. Is this a relay issue? I know some led signals will flash really fast if you do not have resistors but never heard of them not blinking. I do not have any resistors or anything yet.

you need resistors in the circuit, wired in parallel. you may also need an electronic flasher if you are running led turn signals in the rear too. try replacing the LED turn signals with a test light and see if the test light blinks.

Mechanical flasher relay - likely doesn't like the LED set-up. You need the resistors in place before you can properly diagnose this one. Alternatively, wire them to the rear flashers temporarily and see if you get the same result.

Re: turn signal will not blink

LEDs aren't drawing enough current to trigger the flasher unit.

most led signals come with resistors for this problem, did you see any in the packaging?

there weren't any with the lights. I am not going to run rear signals, so would the resistors cure this? I have heard some older bikes will stop flashing if one of the 4 bulbs are out and since I am only running two??? Would this cause this?

if you only want to run 2 led turn signals and no regular bulbs you need resistors and an electronic flasher. you are not drawing enough amps for the flasher to work
