Clutch question

My 89 gixxer when I sit a light in neutral and go to first it grinds gears more often then not. I think my clutch is adjusted properly. Could it be idle? Any ideas would appreciated.

Re: Clutch question

Is it 'dragging' any when you engage the gear?
Have you done a 3 point adjustment?
Is there much free play in the lever?

Re: Clutch question

There is a little play in the lever. I adjusted first at the engine end of the cable then the lever, what the third adjustment? I didn't notice any draggin or the bike wanting to creep while in gear.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Clutch question

When I go from neutral to 1st is when it drags, grinds gears.
