Katana fuel gauge suddenly doesnt work after being hooked back up...

As the title says, my gas gauge is not reading for whichever reason, I brought my bike to the mechanic with the carbs off and my gas tank sensor cord thingy that im guesing is responsible for telling my gauge what to read...anyways, he hooked it up and i got my bike back but i noticed its not reading at all, Ive got half a tank of fuel in it and the gauge is not even responding...the wires are hooked up and their color coded so...any ideas?

Disconnect the wiring connector, verify the pins are good and re-connect it. If it still doesn't work, check the sender with an ohm meter and test the guage with the wiring disconnected and then again using a 9 volt battery.

If it worked before, it's probably a wiring issue.
