Canadian Blue Book Values for Gixxer's

Go to cbbtrader.ca. You can look up the blue book value of any motorcycle for resale in Canada. There must be a US equilivent site as well.
Apparently, an "extra-clean, showroom condition, low km" 1985 GSXR 750's resale value will pocket you $2100.

Extra-Clean represents the top 15 to 20 percent of the marketplace. To rate a vehicle as extra clean, the vehicle must look like new, be in excellent mechanical condition and require no reconditioning. Mileage is usually low. This is sometimes referred to as “showroom” condition. This vehicle should also have complete and verifiable service records. If there is no remaining factory warranty and the unit is being retailed at a dealership.
The estimated retail value you receive at this site does not make allowance for any add-on accessories. It is based on a unit with all original equipment.

Units classified as “Average” or “Clean” condition will sell for less than the price you will receive at this site. The value of any vehicle will depend on the cosmetic condition, mileage, mechanical condition and origin. Maintenance history, option upgrades, performance history and current regional economy should be considered when determining a final selling price.

Ha that's a good one... According to the site, I can get a nice 86 GSXR-750 LTD for $2400. Just $200 more than an 86 750 $2200. Nice... I'm going to look for one of those cheap showroom condition 86 LTD's. All the showroom, low mileage ones I've seen are about three or four times that

I don't know where they get there numbers from, my ICBC agent valued my 1985 GSXR at $2900.00. It's definitely not in showroom condition

Yeah, blue book values are always lower than real world pricing. And by real world pricing, I mean Ebay pricing. It seems to be a close indicator of what the demand is like out there. It's almost always higher than what the blue book shows.

What it's good for is a barn find when the owner has no idea what their bike is worth. That's when you bring the book!
